Adventist leaders of the Western Central Africa offered their place due to the urgent needs of the country

Miami, Florida, United States Known as the "Thirteenth Sabbath Offering," this collection is one of four annual instances in which the offerings are used specifically to finance projects missionaries of the denomination. Haiti is still in a state of devastation from a powerful earthquake completely destroyed the capital city of Port-au-Prince in January past. Months later, a cholera epidemic was over two thousand other dead and infected more than thirty thousand people. "We reaffirm our commitment as Adventists stand by Haitians during this difficult time," said Israel Leito, president of the Adventist Church in Inter-American Division, which oversees the church in Haiti. "There is still so much suffering, so many people almost destitute." For months after the quake, parishioners from around the world contributed to help rebuild the church and the communities in Haiti. Inter-America leaders hope that in the Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will show the same generosity and compassion to help rebuild over a hundred churches and dozens of schools destroyed or damaged by the quake.
